I quickly realized the importance of finding some baby-toting gal pals after having my first-born, which is why I created the South Charlotte Playgroup. I also realize, however, that you might not live in South Charlotte. (Kind of a shame, don't you think? Perhaps, a relocation is in order!)
Anywho, I wanted to share a few resources where you might find a place in this heck-of-a-mommy world. Everyone deserves to have an adult conversation during the day. Even if it is chatting about diaper cream and disciplinary tactics. :)
Here are of my favorite places to shop for a mom-friend:
Meetup.com: Search for a playgroup in your area! The South Charlotte Playgroup lives on meetup.com and so do thousands of other super-cool mom and kid groups! To search, visit: http://playgroup.meetup.com/
MOPS.com: Moms of Preschoolers is a great resource to find local moms and of course, preschoolers. To find a group in your area, visit: http://www.mops.org
The Mommies Network: This is another group with communities across the country. Join to participate in their active discussion forums and community events. Visit: http://www.themommiesnetwork.org
ChiquitaMoms.com: Launching soon, you'll be able to chit chat about all types of hot mom topics. This community lives mostly online, so this is a great resource for getting "a bunch" of advice on how to raise your little monkeys. To join, visit: http://www.chiquitamoms.com
** Being a Charter Chiquita Mom for ChiquitaMoms.com, of course, comes with some compensation, perks and benefits from the fine folks at Chiquita Brands. However, please note that all opinions expressed are my own.
